Khanis

First Encounters the Aegyth Raefyll Shard - the wandering hunters, led by Falcyr (lost husband to the Black Tharn savages) 34/70 members remaining (Aegyth shard, Raefyll tribe) - they are traders, trappers and hunters, use sleds drawn by fast reindeer like creatures. The Aegyth have no fortresses of their own. They sometimes go to Tverkuktsk to trade (a Khadorian border town).

Their tatoos look vaguely like open hands wrapped with trails. Durion is their representative.

Then conducted to the Dyrth Voassyr shard, led by Dyrth Voassyr of the Voassyr tribe. They are the border wardens, who follow the herds of musk oxen and patrol their lands for intruders, have five tribal fortresses, led by the mighty hunter, Ryllys Dyvvar, husband of Aelyth Vyr. Their tatoos look like spears and vines intertwined.

Finally, there are the wardens of Nyssor, the Maelwyrr Aeryn, the Aeryn tribe, and the Maelwyrr shard, who serve the fane of Nyssor. The shrine is in the heart of the Fane of Nyssor. They are led by Caelyph Maelwyrr, an Aransor (elder). The primary fortress guardians are Myrdia Maelwyrr (his daughter) and her mate, Syryth Laryssar. The Fane is in the Shard spires.

Their tatoos resemble Nyssor's mark, which is Eye, Heart and Hill.

The Winter stones mark their territory and are there to warn off the uninvited and are inscribed with the appropriate runes for the tribe that patrols the area.

The Cat creature that bears him is a Tarshori, that hunt the musk oxen and compete with the Nyssor. The Voassyr revere them as the perfect hunters, fast, deadly, beautiful and without peer.

The Voassyr hunt the Devourer Wurm's creatures that the Tharn worship and follow, a cold drake species known as the Kulrath. It also hunts the musk oxen but it is a indiscriminate slayer and does not care what it kills and goes out of it's way to maul and rend it's prey.

Scenes

Leaving Corvis (saying his goodbyes, etc.)

A wide view of the war (his route will take him within view of the battlefields) - a brief diversion?

A Trade gone bad in town between his kindred and the Khadorians (need the specific ethnicity that lives there)

Encountering his kindred near Tverkuktsk - what is the scenario?

Home coming amoungst the Nyss -- meet Falcyr (her first, Meguildur, who also loves her, leader of the Outreach, the most open minded of the Nyss shards).

An emissary from the the Voassyr arrives with a companion (who is a Maelwyrr acolyte, her name is Erunia). The emissary is just an escort who is informing the Raefyll band they can winter at one of their fortresses (a high slender ice bound structure build into the side of the mountain like a spear) it's called Winter Bite (Hirvallas). At Hirvallas, there is a Voassyr master leather worker, Calanon, who can make the armor if Khanis can provide the materials (Kulrath hide in this case)

They will travel to the fortress escorted by a small band of Voassyr.

Once they arrive, one of Ryllys' lieutenants, Acors will challenge Khanis to a contest before he can participate in their ritual hunt at the fortress.

They will follow the musk oxen trail across the snowy wastes where their band will set upon by the Kulrath the first time.

Here, Khanis can step forward to slay the Kulrath. If he does so, he will be taken to Nyssor's Fane by the acolyte where he will receive an audience with Caelyph and his kill will be fashioned into armor.

Khanis has a surviving uncle, Eruhahn, and two cousins Lucienne and Anira, the rest of his family fell to one of the Tharn incursions that has occured across the border. Where does Khanis fit here? His father was Imralis, his mother was Aieredhiel. They fell to the Skarn and are buried not far from their Kraal (homestead), with a simple cairn to mark the spot (their shard rune is on the stones).

His Father will have left him a fine cloak and his holy symbol (carven of diamond), and his mother, her pocket harp.

The Voassyr will want to see his prowess with sword and bow before they take him on a ritual hunt (The Dalshalra'an - the Long Seeking)

He will challenged at the fortress to three challenges: Daugion (the archer)

Other items of import for the Nyss

Status of Nyssor? Caelyph says he saw him stir once in his long sleep

Tharm attacks are particular fierce of late, as though something has stirred them up (this is a combination of things, the Skorne, the Wurm is Rising, Tremas and Shetanis)

Something has been eating large numbers of Musk Oxen, and is of concern to the hunters, they are tracking it down

More and more Shards are dreaming of the past before the shattering when Nyssor walked among his people
